Your weekly gross pay is your hourly rate multiplied by the number of hours worked in the week. For standard hours without overtime:
Weekly pay = Hourly rate × Hours worked
For weeks with overtime: Weekly pay = (Regular hours × Rate) + (OT hours × Rate × 1.5)
These results are gross pay — before federal income tax, state tax, Social Security, and Medicare deductions.

Multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours you work per week. For a standard 40-hour week: Hourly rate × 40 = weekly gross pay. For example, $22/hour × 40 hours = $880 weekly gross pay.
Gross pay is your total earnings before any deductions. Net pay is what you take home after federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security (6.2%), and Medicare (1.45%) are withheld.
$20 per hour × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $41,600 per year before taxes. Working 50 weeks (accounting for 2 weeks unpaid time off) gives $40,000 annually.
$50,000 ÷ 52 weeks ÷ 40 hours = $24.04 per hour. This is the effective hourly rate for a $50,000 annual salary at 40 hours per week.
Yes. This calculator includes overtime hours at 1.5× your regular rate. Enter your overtime hours separately and the calculator adds the overtime pay to your regular weekly pay.
A standard full-time schedule is 2,080 hours per year (40 hours/week × 52 weeks). After accounting for 10 federal holidays, it drops to about 1,960 productive hours.
Weekly pay means you receive a paycheck every week (52 paychecks/year). Bi-weekly means every two weeks (26 paychecks/year). Bi-weekly pay is more common in the US. Your bi-weekly paycheck equals your weekly pay times two.
